Gregg Michael Broad. (Odox gallery/studios) is an interdisciplinary artist who lives and works in Birmingham. His abstract landscape/seascapes have a strong visual impact. He uses multi media, such as oil, acrylic, wax, sand, grit, collage and inks, to name but a few. Most of the paintings are of imaginary places, occasionally he will reference from on site drawings or photographs. Gregg has a talent to capture the dramatic, the atmospheric and the ambiguous in his large paintings. He has always had a love for the outdoors, and a reverence for nature and the elements. Gregg's current practice is combining the landscape image with issues of climate change and pollution. He also draws from his experience of being a chef to create sugar sculptures, juxtaposing the fixed image of the paintings and the temporal qualities of sugar this is a direct reference to the fragility of our planet.
