Odox is an artist-run project space, contemporary gallery and studio provider in Birmingham. Sitting on the border of the Jewellery Quarter, we embrace the area’s unique heritage alongside its current context, at a time of exciting cultural regeneration.

Formed in 2019 by artists Jay Taylor and Rob Hamp, Odox is a non-profit Community Interest Company.

We provide affordable studio spaces, supporting the development of emerging and more established practitioners. Within our welcoming community, we promote diverse, ambitious and cross-disciplinary practice, focused on contemporary art and design.

Alongside the studios, we offer workshops, connect artists with local businesses, hold events, talks and exhibitions, and contribute to the growing contemporary art scene in Birmingham.

Our ethos is to create a more transparent and inclusive art world. We encourage active engagement in the arts to enrich people’s lives, whatever their background, and aim to build a vibrant arts community in and around Birmingham’s Jewellery Quarter.

We offer the opportunity for new encounters and dialogues at the intersection of the orthodox and unorthodox, promoting innovation.

Odox’s project space will host a diverse and varied programme of exhibitions with a focus on new and contemporary art. We welcome multi-disciplinary practice, including fine art, illustration, design, and animation, with the aim of expanding the definition of exhibition practice.

We will invite a range of practising professionals from a diverse range of disciplines to offer creative workshops. It will encourage an exchange of skills, ideas and creativity between local and international artists, designers and makers, curators, illustrators and animators.

Odox offers purpose-built, inclusive and affordable studio spaces by the Jewellery Quarter, Birmingham. Within our welcoming community, we provide 7 artist studios, filled with natural light from large windows. Our ethos is to encourage a lively community of practitioners across disciplines. At a time of significant redevelopment for the Jewellery Quarter, we aim to make the area a destination for artists, designers, collectors and creative entrepreneurs.
