Odox is pleased to present Bone, Thugs and Harmony, a solo exhibition by UK Street Artist, Used Pencil, aka Ben Pickering. Opening reception 16th August, 5pm-8pm.
This Secret Walls winning doodler makes marks on any surface he can find, creating images and murals that reflect the confusing yet beautiful world we live in today. Drawing on the ever-changing social scene and diverse contemporary culture, Used Pencil aims to elevate beauty, highlight predicaments and poke fun at the strange habits he observes from contemporary culture. Abstract forms transcend through line and delicately arranged compositions to create pieces that grace the streets and the gallery, leaving his distinct mark on found objects, bespoke canvasses and directly onto the walls.
A nomad by nature, Used Pencil set off in search of discovery with a year in Hong Kong, where he had an exhibition at Above Second Gallery and started to create Street Art as well as documenting all that he brushed past in his chaotic sketchbooks. He took part in Secret Walls, Hk Walls, as well as other music and art festivals. During his time in Hong Kong he collaborated with brands including; Vans, Converse, Harley Davidson HK, Pure, Absolute Vodka, Kronenbourg 1664 and Lulu Lemon. Now, Used Pencil lives in Bristol, where he has taken part in UP Fest, one of the largest Street Art festivals in the world. Catch him while you can, blink and he'll be off again...
